Project objectives

Promote the efficient use of forest resources in the clean heat energy production and increased use of renewable energy and cleantech in the participating regions.

Activities

  1. Knowledge exchange and activity coordination between partners to fully implement results of this EU project.
  2. External multi sectoral communication with regional stakeholders on bioenergy and forest.
  3. Development of tools for policy making and strategy planning aiming at fulfilling goals of reduction of green house gas.
  4. Improvement of cross border and cross sector competence development.
  5. Development of support for knowledge building and investment decisions in bioenergy and cleantech applications.

Results

  1. Better multi-sectoral approach and coordination between partners and in respective partner organisations. Cooperation how to handle EU projects. A midterm evaluation as base for managing this project.
  2. WEB-site during the project time and after. External info to target groups such as politicians, general public, professionals on the project as a whole. Special info to stakeholders in forest sector - brochures, a short movie and an exhibition.
  3. Regional policies and strategies based on systematic approach in sectors of bioenergy and cleantech. Development of planning tools. Development of methods for informing, advising and educating the public in the field of bioenergy and forestry.
  4. Sustainable competence network of regional and transnational training institutions and other stakeholders. Transnational exchange and experience. Developed methods of market analysis.
  5. Support systems for investment analysis and procurement connected to economical, climate and environmental aspects. Cross sector and cross border knowledge building.
  6. Transferable case studies on district heating.
