Project objectives

The project "Trans in Form" aims to introduce competitive development concepts for rural regions, smaller towns and cities. It will raise awareness among both policy makers and citizens about regional attractiveness and potential. Project partners are small cities and regions in Norway, Sweden, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Germany. In addition the project has copartners in Russia and Belarus.

Activities

  1. "Trans in Form" will design an Attractivity Barometer as a tool to analyse the situation in all regions, look further at regional scenarios and perspectives, population and labour market (SME' s).
  2. The project will make a toolbox for Regional Scenario Planning and guidelines for New Narratives and storytelling.
  3. "Trans in Form" will study best practice and produce regional improvement plans and furthermore carry out an investment pilot, evaluated by partners and professionals, which could demonstrate a possible way of redesigning and creating more interaction in public spaces.
  4. The elaboration of diverse toolboxes for analysing rural BSR, with regards to attractiveness, will give guidelines for new approaches to scenario planning together with good governance practices.

Results

  1. As part of the TRANS IN FORM project, it is planned to implement 3 pilot projects - in Jelgava county (Latvia), Tranemo municipality (Sweden), and Suwalki municipality (Poland). As part of pilot projects, it is planned to develop technical documentation (water, light, sound installations, digital, art, design elements, etc.) to make public places in small municipalities more attractive.
  2. To achieve better results, the TRANS IN FORM project will identify examples of good practices from the Baltic Sea region, as well as the experience of other European countries, learning from competitive cities and regions that have been able to create attractive urban designs, implement new development scenarios, develop dynamic industries and have implemented the principles of good governance. The implementation of the project will promote territorial cohesion by creating close cooperation between the involved partners on a regional and international scale.
