Uptake of Open Geographic Information Through Innovative Services Based on Linked Data (SDI4App)

  • sdi4app

The potential of geographic data collected and held by various public institutions, as well as private and non-governmental sector organizations, is underutilized. The advancement of information and telecommunication technologies and the shift towards linked open data create opportunities for innovation. The existing spatial data infrastructure is largely overseen by national and European policies and institutions. Today, geographic data no longer exists in an isolated information space but is part of a broader European information sphere, within which it is essential to develop new value-added services and products by utilizing these public data resources.

Therefore, to promote the use of this data’s potential in creating new products and services (such as mobile applications based on this data), it is necessary to develop support infrastructure that facilitates the adoption of this data for new product and service development.
