Restoration of cross-border public transport connections (ROCC)

During the project, the partners will prepare a strategy and action plan for the operation of cross-border bus lines and coordinate them with the relevant authorities of both countries by the end of the project.

At the beginning of 2025, the timetables for the pilot bus lines Valga – Valka and Ikla – Ainaži (Salacgrīva) will be submitted to the authorities for approval, and an IT solution for the ticketing system will be prepared.

The pilot bus lines will be opened in the first half of 2025 and will be operate for 12 months.

At the same time, the usage data of the bus lines will be analyzed and travel needs surveys will be organized among residents, municipalities and companies for the Võru – Aluksne, Viljandi – Valmiera and Kilingi-Nõmme – Valmiera bus lines.
