Project objectives

The main objective of the CEESEU project is to improve the capacity of public administrations in Central and Eastern Europe to develop Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAPs) that promote increased energy efficiency, sustainable energy, reduced carbon emissions, and improved adaptability to climate change, helping the region to contribute to the EU's climate goals.

Activities

  1. Create training materials and train CEA national administrative authorities in developing and implementing SECAP, considering the particular context of CAE communities.
  2. Assist CEE municipalities to engage with stakeholders and implement multi-level governance to develop SECAP.
  3. Provide instructions to CEE municipalities in the financing and implementation of SECAP activities.
  4. To improve cooperation between state administrations in the CEE and the EU.
  5. Provide guidance and advice to the CoM and other EU actors on how to better reach and meet the needs of CEE municipalities in SECAP development and implementation.

Results

  1. 650 GWh of energy saved by the end of the project.
  2. Improved knowledge and skills of at least 645 state administrators in CEE municipalities.
  3. Better mutually coordinated national and regional development plans with SECAP in CEESEU countries and improved national and regional sustainable energy and energy efficiency policies.
  4. At least 25 million euros for sustainable energy and climate change adaptation investments.
