Benchmarking on contaminated sites (BECOSI)

  • benchmarking on contaminated sites becosi

The diversity of Latvia’s history has left not only a rich and colorful cultural heritage but also challenges. In almost every municipality, one can find polluted sites that do not receive the necessary attention. It is crucial for municipalities to properly monitor contaminated areas and for municipal staff to be prepared to address these risks and explain them to their residents. The project “Benchmarking on Contaminated Sites” (“Becosi”) provides an opportunity to exchange best practices in planning tools and methods related to the evaluation of contaminated sites and their inclusion in municipal agendas. The “Becosi” project seeks optimal solutions to offer concrete and practical advice for the effective management of contaminated areas.
