Accelerating the uptake of green heating and cooling solutions across EU territories (Green4HEAT)

  • accelerating the uptake of green heating and cooling solutions across eu territories green4heat

The Green4HEAT project is focused on promoting sustainable solutions in the building heating and cooling sector, which currently consumes around 30% of the EU’s final energy consumption. Despite ongoing efforts, the integration of renewable energy in this sector (~23%) lags behind compared to electricity production (~38%). Therefore, this project aims to accelerate the transition to low-carbon heating solutions, emphasizing district heating as an underutilized resource that could meet up to 50% of urban heating needs, enhancing energy efficiency and renewable energy use.
