Central Eastern European Sustainable Energy Union (CEESEU)
The main objective of the CEESEU project is to improve the capacity of public administrations in Central and Eastern Europe to develop Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAPs) that promote energy efficiency and sustainable energy, reduce carbon emissions and encourage adaptability to climate change, helping the region achieve the EU’s climate goals. . Central and Eastern European (CEE) municipalities have lagged behind their Western European counterparts in developing SECAP for several reasons, such as lack of understanding and interest in planning processes, lack of knowledge, resources and access to resources, as well as the need for information strategies or procedural changes at the EU level, for example, the Covenant of Mayors, applied to the unique circumstances of the CEE.
