Project objectives
- Increased sustainable remediation of contaminated sites within the central Baltic region.
- Improved management methods for contaminated sites within the central Baltic region.
- Better visualisation and prioritization of contaminated sites within the central Baltic region.
Activities
- Investigation and testing for the function of sustainable remediation alternatives at five pilot areas.
- Development of management methods such as supervision to create a more efficient handling of contaminated sites.
- Development of technical tools for better prioritisation and visualisation.
Results
- Suitable and sustainable solutions for different types of contaminants at different type of sites.
- Created new innovative methods and methodologies to improve supervision, enforcement and spatial planning of contaminated sites.
- Better overview and knowledge about contaminated sites, using tools for prioritisation and communication about contaminated sites.
